Houston rapper Kirko Bangz gives his predictions on his upcoming studio debut album, claiming that he will sell 1 million copies within the first week.
We’ve heard rappers make claims that they will sell monstrous amounts of records within the first in the past. Kirko Bangz is the latest rapper to throw some numbers around about his ‘Bigger Than Me’ debut album, stating that he will go platinum in a week.
“I’m going platinum in a week when my album drops. You know what I’m saying? I tell everybody that, so ya’ll can go back to this video and listen to it, because it’s really going down,” Kirko confidently told GWHH. “I’m really gonna go platinum in a week, ya’ll gonna see.”
Soulja Boy also said his ‘Promise’ album would go platinum in the first week last year, which seems even more unlikely that Kirko selling 1 million in the first week. To put things in perspective. Justin Timberlake, one of the biggest superstars in music with one of the strongest marketing teams behind him, sold just under 1 million copies in the first week of his ‘The 20/20 Experience’ album.
