Justin Timberlake explains that he wants his joint tour with Jay-Z to be like Billy Joel and Elton John’s ‘Face 2 Face’ tour.
Shortly before releasing his ‘The 20/20 Experience’ album, Justin Timberlake dropped a bomb on the music community announcing that he would be teaming up with Jay-Z for the ‘Legends of the Summer’ tour.
In a recent interview with MySpace, JT reveals that it was Jay-Z that approached him for tour. Justin also reveals that he is looking to Billy Joel and Elton John’s joint tour for their inspiration.
“Jay approached me about it because I think the opportunity was coming up for him,” Timberlake continued, ” I remembered artists like Billy [Joel] and Elton [John] went on tour together and you just see them mash up their songs together, and I said, ‘That’s what it has to be,’” he says. “We have to just go out on stage for two hours and just nonstop, kill it and then go have a beer or whatever.”
Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’ album is finally available at retailers and on iTunes. The project sold nearly 1 million copies in its opening week, and has received solid reviews across the board.
