Joey Bada$$ has been getting co-signs from legends in the hip hop game, and now the rising star reveals that he’s collaborated with Q-Tip in addition to both DJ Premier and Pete Rock.
Last week we dropped a video showing Joey Bada$$ hitting the studio with none other than hip hop legend Pete Rock. The video was some behind the scenes footage of Joey’s upcoming album, in which Pete Rock went on to say that Joey will “keep hip hop alive with the younger cats.”
Of course Joey’s already worked with DJ Premier, and he recently stated that he’s looking for another collaboration with Premier before wrapping up his album.
It looks like those aren’t the only two legends we can expect on Joey’s album either. The follow up to ’1999′ will also feature a collaboration with Q-Tip.
“Recently, I’ve been working with some legends – DJ Premier, Pete Rock. I got the chance to get in the studio with Q-Tip the other day,” Joey told The Breakfast Club. “I’m just extremely ecstatic about all this…when I first met Premier, it was just like me and the Hip Hop O.G. and like, he’s riding with you, so like he’s trying to make sure you’re doing the right things, too.”
