Raekwon weighs in on Kanye West’s controversial kilt, proclaiming that he “wouldn’t actually rock it on stage.”
Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon and G.O.O.D. Music’s Kanye West have always had a great working relationship, and both artists have gone on record to express their admiration for one another. So with that being said, how does the Chef feel about Kanye West’s fashion choices? Namely, the ever controversial kilt.
In a recent interview with the team at MTV, Raekwon explained that he was always a “fashion whore,” but he couldn’t see himself wearing a kilt on stage. He also goes on to conclude with the fact that “these guys challenge fashion because they feel they put it together right.”
Would I rock a kilt?” Rae asked before continuing with, ”Yeah, I’ll rock it in Ireland. I’ll rock it in Dublin. Me personally, I been out there. I had a show that day. If I woulda had one, I woulda said, ‘Yo, give me the Burberry lookin’ one.’ But I wouldn’t actually rock it onstage. Sometimes you wanna jump out the window but everybody can’t do it. So when you see these guys challenge this fashion, it’s because they feel they put it together right. And at the end of the day, that’s all you gotta look at is how you walk out the door.”
