As the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg prepares for his upcoming reggae album, renowned photographer Terry Richardson gets a chance to shoot the former gangster rapper.
Snoop Dogg has garnered a ton of attention, both good and bad over the past few months after he announced his Snoop Lion name change along with a new reggae album dubbed ‘Reincarnated.’
The team at Vice recently caught up with Snoop Lion to do a photoshoot showcases Snoop’s fashion evolution from his inception in the early 90s to his current style. Snoop also talks about the evolution style, discussing everything from flannels and hockey jerseys to French tips and his hair.
“It’s your strip. That’s what it’s all about. Most definitely, that’s been my style since day one; my hair has always been my main focus. I always make sure it looks right, and that I’ve got a new style, something that fits me that’s different. Even when I wore it in pigtails, or permed my hair like Shirley Temple, whatever it was, it was always something that was on the edge. It was like, “Wow, it looks nice.” But it was always different, so even now that I’m locking up, this is me being me. My hair has always told the story, and this is my journey at the moment.”
