Lil Wayne is apparently not a follower of American Idol even though YMCMB star Nicki Minaj is one of the show’s current judges. The rapper also revealed what he knows about the show and explained that it just doesn’t fit his interests.
Wayne explained that he’s never seen an episode of Idol and that’s partly because Minaj warned him off. “Actually, I’ve never watched it,” Wayne admitted to CBS before adding, “When I talk to her she’s always tells me, ‘You don’t wanna watch that, you’re not going to be into it.’”
Minaj’s advice comes from her understanding of his interest, and Wayne explained that from what he’s heard, he just won’t enjoy the series. “She knows me. … It’s kind of like a catfight where they be going back and forth type of thing, I’m not into all that,” said Wayne.
Lil Wayne is also gearing up for the release of ‘I Am Not A Human Being II’ and explained that he’s not planning to match anyone’s expectations with the record. “Never have expectations for me, like never, because I probably will not meet your expectations. … Just enjoy what you get, hopefully,” said Wayne.
