Jay-Z has been steadily adding new production talent to his Roc Nation imprint over the past year and just announced that he’s inked a deal with Timbaland. Timbaland and Hov have a long history and recently worked together on Justin Timberlake’s single ‘Suit & Tie.’
Hov used his Life+Times website to reveal the deal posting a picture of himself with Timbaland relaxing in the studio. “Roc Nation welcomes TIMBALAND to the family,” announced the website.
The two musicians have been frequent collaborators since the 1990s and they’ve put out no shortage of hits including ‘Nigga What, Nigga Who,’ ‘Big Pimpin,’ and recently ‘Off That’ featuring Drake.
Hov may have missed a chance to ink a deal with Joey Bada$$, but the label has been growing a strong base of producers and currently reps Jahlil Beats, Lab Ox, Stargate, No I.D. and many more.
