An upcoming NBC/Oxygen reality show staring G-Unit rapper Shawty Lo may never air after the pilot for the series, which was released on the web back in December, prompted substantial criticism. If the series does move forward, ‘All My Babies’ Mamas‘ will star the rapper and his 10 baby mamas, as well as his 11 children.
According to The Daily Beast, Oxygen is planning to cut the show before its intended spring premiere as a result of pressure created by an online petition that has nearly 40,000 signatures. But a rep for Oxygen informed AllHipHop.com that the show still has a green-light saying, “The rumor is simply untrue. The project remains in early development.”
Sabrina Lamb, who is behind the Change.org petition, explained her opposition to the show. “This show is about more than a rapper and his girlfriends. This is a show about kids who had no choice in how they came into the world. This show sets them up to be ridiculed and made fun of. None of us should be OK with that,” Lamb told The Daily Beast.
NBC/Oxygen has yet to make an official statement regarding the rumored cancellation, and Shawty Lo has not offered any clarity.
