Ab-Soul recently explained his verse on his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on ‘Illuminate’ and detailed the his jabs at Nas and Jay-Z. The rapper also explained that he’s planning on putting his talents to work on a book and claims he could be one of the greatest writers of all-time.
Ab-Soul explained that he has respect for both Nas and Jay-Z adding that his shots were simply a challenge. “This is basically a traditional or a conventional jab at my favorite artists or favorite players in the game at the time. It was just extending a challenge to play on their same court, if you will,” said Ab-Soul.
Ab-Soul is considering writing several books at some point in the future and the rapper is apparently confident in his talents as an author. “I think I have a shot at being one of the best authors ever. I do plan on publishing a few books in my lifetime. We’ll see,” said Ab-Soul.
Ab-Soul also confirmed that he does in fact have a tattoo of the Paid Dues logo. “As for the Paid Dues reference. I did get Paid Dues tatted last year,” said Ab-Soul.
