Kendrick Lamar explains that he had no idea that Lady Gaga would be releasing their collaboration version of ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.’
As the release date for Kendrick Lamar’s studio debut album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. City‘ approached, the music community was intrigued by the news that that K Dot would be teaming up with pop star Lady Gaga for a joint song off the project considering how different the two artist’s styles are.
As we now know Lady Gaga didn’t make the final cut for the album due to a conflict of interest with Kendrick’s management, and Lady Gaga was not willing to compromise her music. Even though she didn’t make the album, Lady Gaga surprised everyone, including Kendrick, leaking an unheard version of ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’ last week.
“I didn’t even know she was gonna put that out,” he told XXL. “That was a surprise. I thought she was gonna hold that in the can. I was cool with it. It showed people we wasn’t playin’ with it; we was actually in the studio vibing out when we recorded. For her to put it out even undone, that says a lot. That says she’s confident not only about her work, but my work.”
