A$AP Rocky reveals that his studio debut album ‘Long Live A$AP‘ is already complete, and that he has been looking to garner more attention before dropping the project.
A$AP Rocky hit the hip hop scene hard in 2011 with the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape ‘Live Love A$AP.’ The A$AP Mob head honcho announced that he would be following up in 2012 with his debut album dubbed ‘Long Live A$AP,’ but the project has since been delayed until 2013.
In a recent interview with The Charlotte Observer, A$AP Rocky reveals that the album is actually already done being recorded, and he’s just looking to increase his buzz over the next few months before dropping the project.
“Secretly this album has been done, honestly, for the past couple of months. My buzz has been growing rapidly, but I’ve secretly done all these amazing things a long time ago,” he said.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the official tracklist for ‘Long Live A$AP,’ curious to see who the Harlem native enlisted for the album. Rocky lets fans know that the individuals that do collaborate with him do so based on “chemistry,” and not buzz like many of the other rappers in the game.
“People like to work with me because I’m eclectic and I care about the craft. It’s a true collaboration based on chemistry, not based on buzz,” A$AP Rocky revealed.
As of right now, there is still no official release date for A$AP Rocky’s ‘Long Live A$AP,’ but we expect the project to drop during the first quarter of 2013.
