Atlanta rap star T.I. recalls working with Andre 3000 on his upcoming ‘Trouble Man’ album, explaining that it was actually Three Stacks that reached out to him for the collaboration.
Tip has been a busy man over the past year with the success of his reality television show, and this winter he looks to release his oft delayed ‘Trouble Man’ album.
Details around the album are a bit sparse at this point, but we do know that T.I. worked with Outkast member Andre 3000 on the album, and it has been one of the hottest topics when it comes to T.I. over the past few months.
Fans know just how rare it is to score a feature from the legendary Andre 3000, so to say this track is highly anticipated would be a massive understatement. Although T.I. has wanted to collaborate with Andre for years, it was actually Andre 3000 that reached out to Tip for the collaboration.
“In this room per se, we had Andre 3000, who called me one day – I’m talking about on the humble,” he told 3 Little Digs during the interview. “I would come into the studio to record every day as I always did at this time, and so my phone rang, I missed the call and then [an associate] said, ‘Hey, 3000 called, he said he’s coming on the way up here.’ He gets here and he says, ‘Hey, I know you’ve been trying to do this song [with me] since 2006, but today, I’m ready.’ I said, ‘Well goddamn, c’mon!’ He comes up here, in this mutherfuckin’ room here…and this nigga goddamn reconstructed my whole goddamn song in like 45 minutes.”
Trouble Man will be T.I. eighth studio album, and is currently slated for a December 18th release date after quite a few delays.
