This entire week has been about one thing, or one person rather in Kendrick Lamar. The young Compton native had all eyes on him as he released his immensely popular studio debut project ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. City.’
The album has been receiving immense praise from fans, and earning nothing but stellar reviews across the board from critics.
Quality doesn’t always coincide with commercial success, but thankfully it did for Kendrick Lamar as his studio debut project ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city’ sold an impressive 242,000 copies in its first week.
Kendrick outdid his own sales projections, were right around 200,000 copies. Unfortunately he released his album in the same week as Taylor Swift, who managed to sell a monstrous 1.2 million copies of her ‘RED’ album in the first week earning her the top spot.
