Soulja Boy finally gives an official release date for his upcoming Promise album, and plans to drop the project at the end of this year.
In 2011 Soulja Boy dropped his DeAndre Way album, which received less than stellar reviews across the board from both fans and critics alike. The album only managed to sell 13,000 copies in its first week, but Soulja is focused on making his upcoming album ‘Promise‘ different.
The Atlanta rapper had announced earlier in the year that he planned to drop the project by the end of 2012, and we now we have an official release date of December 18th for the project.
Soulja revealed earlier this year that the album would have features from Waka Flocka Flame, Game, Busta Rhymes, and more. More importantly he said his goal is to go platinum in the first week.
“It’s called Promise, my fourth solo album from Interscope Records. I’ve been in the studio, me and Waka [Flocka Flame] have been in the studio, me and Game, me and Detail, you know what I’m saying? Me and DJ Khaled got a joint. Me and Busta Rhymes got a joint. … This album is going to sound like a whole new Soulja Boy. Crazy beats, crazy lyrics. Growth and maturity in my music. It just is what it is. … Just really, I want to do an album that goes platinum in the first week.”
