We’ll be completely honest here, trying to narrow down the most impressive ten sets of bars on a Lupe album (especially one as lyrically dense as Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1) is no easy proposition. We all know the old saying about finding a needle in a haystack, but that definitely didn’t apply here. With so many vivid metaphors, and nonstop displays of impeccable wordplay, it was more like trying to find a few particular needles, in a giant stack of other needles.
But, we did our best to dig through and find what could arguably be the most potent lines from the Chicago poet-disguised-as-a-rapper’s recently dropped project. Undoubtedly though, there might be some personal bias with Lupe Fiasco record, and there’s a great chance we missed a few.
