Former Ruff Ryders rapper Eve sets a 2013 release date for her upcoming ‘Lip Lock’ album after a slew of label issues.
Eve has been making media headlines this week thanks largely in part to performing alongside fellow former Ruff Ryders member DMX for the first time in nearly a decade at the Rock The Bells Festival this past weekend in San Bernadino, California.
Eve had been working hard at putting out her fourth album ‘Lip Lock’ for quite some time, but due to record label issues getting the project on shelves was becoming a huge issue. Eve recently revealed to HHW that she is no longer with EMI, and that she will be dropping a new single by the end of this year.
“Yes so I left EMI, it was gonna be through EMI, now my deal’s through Sony Red. Still independent and the album will be out next year,” Eve revealed. “It’s still called Lip Lock and ya’ll will hear a single before the end of the year. So finally, shit.”
In regards to hitting the stage with Dark Man X, it comes as no surprise that Eve seems just as excited as we were to see them perform together.
“First of all I’m just happy to see him,” the rapper explained. “That’s my dog and we haven’t been on stage since like 2001, 2002 maybe. That’s gonna be exciting. I think we’re both gonna be like, ‘Aww you so dope.’ So it’ll be fun.”
