As the release date of Rick Ross’ ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ steadily approaches, the Maybach Music Group head honcho is building hype for his project and recently spoke about what it was like to hit the studio with Dr. Dre and Jay-Z for one of the album’s tracks. Rozay also briefly addressed rumors that he was looking to ink a deal with Nipsey Hussle, and while it sounds like the two are talking, nothing is definite at this point.
According to Ross, he was looking to bring in features that he appreciates as a fan and explained that grabbing both Dre and Hov for a track was something he’d never thought possible. “I just collaborated with people who I’m huge fans of, such as Dr. Dre for the first time. Dr. Dre and Jay-Z on the same record by the name of ‘Three Kings.’ Just witnessing that and being in the studio with both of them dudes was a hell of an experience. It’s just something I could never even really see happening, so on a personal level, that was big for me,” said Ross.
Ross explained that he was a fan of Nipsey Hussle, but for the time being he doesn’t have anything definitive to say about negotiating a deal with the rapper. “I’m a big fan of the homie and just to keep it 100, you never know. Keep your ear to the streets,” Rick Ross told Bootleg Kev on Power 98.3.
Back in April, Nipsey explained that he was focused on building his own base but acknowledged the force of the MMG name. “About me signing, we still grinding, we still building. That’s the biggest name in the game right there. They grindin’, they killin’ shit. I’m just trying to keep building my situation right now. In the future, you’ll see what goes on. Right now, we still just building,” Nipsey said back in April.
