Yelawolf recently had a minute to update the status of his upcoming sophomore album ‘Love Story’ and explained that he’s been forced to push back the album because he was hospitalized in March which forced him to reschedule his current tour. The rapper explained that while he has to make up tour dates he missed, pushing back ‘Love Story’ will give him the opportunity to dedicate the amount of time he needs to complete the album.
Yelawolf explained that his trip to the hospital in order to attend to a ruptured spleen put the brakes on his performance schedule. “When I got hurt I lost a lot of shows and I had to make them up. It cut into the time that I had put out to make ‘Love Story,’” Yela told Montreality.
But the delayed release will allow Yela to put in several months on the record which is far more than the two weeks he needed to record his debut LP. “I really want to put in on this album a few months. Really put in work on this album instead of rushing it. I did ‘Radioactive’ in two weeks and I think that if I really put in on an album a couple months’ worth of work it’s going to be some of my best work ever,” said Yelawolf.
Yelawolf also offered some insight into the possibility of an upcoming Shady Records compilation but he says it will have to wait until Eminem’s roster finish off their current tours. “Obviously, I’m down for it. But there’s no talks of any collaboration-crew album or whatever. Probably a good idea to do it but I know everybody’s on the road working. Slaughterhouse is on the road, I’m on the road,” said Yela.
