According to 50 Cent his upcoming 5th studio album could be his best work yet, and Fif expects the still untitled record to surpass ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’’ which has raked in more than eight million sales in the U.S. since it was released in 2003. Although details surrounding the album are still shrouded in secrecy, Fif has revealed that the record will release on July 2nd.
Fif said that he’s been hard at working on his new album, although he had a chance to listen to ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ and became convinced that his new album will be better. “I haven’t been on twitter much because I been focused on my album. I listen to GRODT over and over I honestly think my albums better,” Fif tweeted.
The record has been a long time in the making as 50 Cent initially announced that he was working on an album called ‘Black Magic’ which would have been a genre-bending mix of dance, hip hop and rock, but Fif changed his mind in 2010 and began recording for his current project. Last June Fif dropped his single ‘Outlaw’ but later denied that it would appear on his 5th record and it has since become less clear how the album will shapeup.
50 Cent has clarified that Boi-1da, Alex da Kid, and Frank Dukes will contribute production work to the album, and said that while Eminem won’t play a role on the album’s production, the two rappers have collaborated but it’s not clear if their work will appear on Fif’s new album.
